A ventilation opening specifically designed to provide fire resistance for smaller gaps and openings in facades while maintaining necessary ventilation.
Securo's fire-resistant gap ventilation has been specially developed to ensure fire safety for smaller facade gaps and openings, while preserving essential ventilation.
The fire-resistant gap ventilation features a unique, flexible quality. It can be compressed flat and, upon releasing pressure, it returns to its original shape. This makes it suitable for narrow air gaps of varying widths.
The product can be easily installed by hand and, once installed, is barely visible from the outside. The ventilation opening can be easily removed at will, leaving no traces or damaging the structure. Therefore, it is suitable for the protection of heritage buildings.
The fire-resistant gap ventilation consists of a steel mesh tube with an expanded core. The gap ventilation does not obstruct the cavity when installed but allows for necessary ventilation.
The mesh is designed to immediately prevent flame ingress.
When exposed to heat, the mesh expands, sealing the ventilation opening and preventing the spread of fire.
The standard size is 20 mm in diameter, and it can be used with a gap ranging from 10 mm to 16 mm.
